The Knox County Emergency Communications District handles many telephone calls and creates many CAD (Computer Aided Dispatch) records every year.
The following statistics show some of what we do.
Last year we answered 609,334 telephone calls. Of these 264,249 were 911 calls.
As many as 87.2% of the 911 calls came from wireless phones (cell phones).
There were 561,902 incidents created in the dispatch system.
The radio system used by the Police, Sheriff and Fire Departments logged 596,506 minutes of airtime.
