As an Emergency Communications Technician I, we are the vital link between the public and other public safety agencies. We are responsible for answering emergency and non-emergency phone lines for EMS, fire, and lawenforcement. We must effectively communicate with the caller, so all vital information is collected and entered into the Computer Aided Dispatch system. We provide information to other public safety agencies and the public as needed. Wewill maintain awareness of community events and events happening in the communications center. Performs other duties as assigned.

  • $18.00 per hour, with a night shift differential of $0.75 per hour

Must have a high school diploma or GED equivalent. Must be at least 18 years of age. Must be willing to work, days, nights, weekends, holidays, and other special occasions. Must pass all pre-employment testing, such asbackground check, drug screen, physical, hearing and speech, psychological, and a Critical Test. Failure to have a favorable result in any of these will eliminate the applicant from the process.
